My tip is not to think that you should look exactly like before, but dare to think that now I’m going to try something new!
Why did you start wearing wigs?
I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata 6 years ago and started shaving off the patches of hair left from my own hair almost 3 years ago. I often wear scarves/turbans and just go shaved, but sometimes I want hair and love being able to vary.
What was it like to start wearing a wig?
At first it was scary, worried that it would be seen as a wig and strangely scarier than going without completely. Like I was ashamed of hiding my illness. And a lot of wrong purchases. But the more often I pushed myself to dare, the easier it became to put on a wig, just like I had been to the hairdresser and had my hair done.
How did Indigo Hair help?
Indigos has helped me by having a wide range of wigs, providing inspiration and showing that there is nothing weird about wearing a wig, just like dyeing and wearing hair extensions. And through excellent service and good prices, I have dared to try both different colors and models.
My favorite now is the new Nike, I feel so stylish in it! But also uses Nora extensively
Tips for wig beginners?
My tip is not to think that you should look exactly like before, but dare to think that now I’m going to try something new! Tips for feeling comfortable in a wig?
Try wearing the wig at home, go shopping in it, try a cap on, for example, to get used to it if you find it nervous.
What is the best thing about wearing a wig?
The best thing is that you can feel stylish and be able to vary your expression.
How are you today?
Today I am fine, the worst time with Alopecia was before I shaved my hair and instead tried to hide the hairless patches. By shaving it off, I took control of my hair and my mood and I decide if I’m going to have a day where I’m cool shaved or have nice hair in the form of a wig.
